This model is a stunning 1:6.5 recreation of the famed Soviet Bi-Plane fighter, the Polikarpov I-15. In the Soviet Union it was referred to as the "Chaika" or Seagull due to its distinctive, attractive gull wing joint on the top wing.
The I-15 holds the distinction of serving on both sides of the battlefront on during the Spanish Civil War, where it was affectionately termed the "Chato" or "Snub-Nose". During the course of the war the I-15 provided to be one of the best fighters of its time.
The I-15 also served in Manchuria for the Chinese Nationalist Air Force against the invading Japanese.
This model futures a finely crafted fiberglass cowling, and is constructed of high quality balsa and film covering. The model includes all mounting hardware for outfitting it with an electric motor, or with a .60 size 2 stroke GP engine or a .80 GP size 4 stroke engines.
